The African Education Research Network (AERN) was founded in 1992 by a small group of American and African universities meeting on the campus of Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. It is a non-profit network dedicated solely to the dissemination of information on Africa. AERN's principal activity is to broaden the scope of socio-political, educational and economic understanding about the continent of Africa and to support through research conducted on, in and about the African continent the dissemination of information associated with education and human development pertaining to people, products and systems on the continent of Africa.
